Bob Abramson, recognized in the 2026 Super Lawyers Michigan for Insurance Coverage, has spent 20 years representing insurance companies and businesses in complex, high-exposure litigation matters. Known for his aggressive and strategic approach to fraud investigation and insurance defense, Bob has conducted more than 1,500 examinations under oath, tried a $35 million wrongful death case, and helped secure the dismissal of more than $20 million in fraudulent claims.
Bob’s practice focuses on insurance coverage disputes, fraud investigations, no-fault/PIP litigation, premises liability defense, and high-exposure bodily injury matters.
A highly sought-after and engaging speaker, Bob has presented for organizations including Institute of Continuing Legal Education (ICLE), Claims and Litigation Management Alliance (CLM), Michigan Defense Trial Counsel (MDTC), and numerous insurance carriers and national defense organizations. His presentations have covered topics such as what questions to ask on initial loss calls and examinations under oath, tackling fraud in the application, busting open PIP fraud rings, uncovering the true change in life in bodily injury cases, and defending liability in slip-and-fall cases.
Before becoming a lawyer, Bob spent seven years as an award-winning journalist. He was recognized as the top sportswriter in Ohio within his newspaper division and spent five years covering Michigan Wolverines football. He also co-authored a book chronicling the team’s 1997 national championship season. Throughout his journalism career, Bob interviewed prominent sports figures including Tom Brady, Magic Johnson, Earl Campbell, and Martina Navratilova.
