MBL is pleased to announce another successful motion for summary disposition leading to the dismissal of a medical provider’s suit for PIP benefits against an MBL insurance client. Associate Jeremy Bass wrote and argued the motion for a team led by Co-Managing Partner Frederick Livingston.

MBL obtained testimony from the underlying patient regarding his injuries that was shown to be false by surveillance video from the same day. MBL argued that this constituted a fraudulent insurance act under MCL 500.3173a. The Macomb County Circuit Court agreed and dismissed the suit. Based on this one patient’s testimony, this is the seventh consecutive medical provider whose suit MBL has had dismissed.
